Kindergarten Artist Mashups

Students will analyze Dasic Fernandez and Chris Uphues artwork and describe how the bright colors of Dasic Fernandez makes us feel and identify the emotions Chris Uphues portrays in his hearts. They will use tempera paints and cut-shapes to portray how they are feeling.

James Goldcrown Mixed Media

Students will analyze J Goldcrown’s diverse artwork and distinguish the medium he used, whether it be paintings, photographs, murals, etc. They will learn how to create a heart by breaking it down into simple shapes and repeat this process in a pattern to construct a whole image. They will used mixed media: metallic sharpies, oil pastels, and tempera paint.

Mondrian Hearts

Students will point out the types of lines, colors, and shapes made in Mondrian’s artwork. They will explore basic geometry through the use of tempera paint. They will reduce their project into straight lines, heart and square shapes, and primary colors.
