Students will analyze Brazilian artist Romero Britto, and respond to his use of the elements and principles of art. Students will use a wax-resist technique to display color, shapes, lines, and patterns.
Students will respond the the visual, expressive features in Jim Dine’s artwork. They will incorporate texture, color, emphasis, and unity to explore symbols of hearts to express thoughts and feelings of love.
Students will explore American Sign Language for artmaking ideas. They will learn how to create a slab, trace their hand, score, slip, and attach clay to make a ceramic hand that incorporates the word "Love" or "I love you".
