Fashioning Identities

Students will interpret social and cultural contexts of how fabric and fashion create meaning in works of art throughout history. They will fashion their own identity by basically playing dress-up and using digital tools to document and use as a reference. Students will visually express complex techniques when creating patterns and folds in fabric

Light as a Subject

Students will apply self-direction, independence, and a purposed approach when defining and solving how light can affect mood, symbolism, and subtleties it brings to a work of art. Students will visually express light as a tangible subject in their artworks and demonstrate advanced technical skills and craftsmanship with various art media when creating images from observation, memory and imagination.

What's in a Title?

Students will analyze specific pieces of art to interpret the titles. These examples will help students decipher why titles are an important aspect to pieces of art. Students will use problem solving skills, divergent thinking, and skills of innovation and envisioning to create a piece of artwork using the media of their choice based off of a given title.
