4th Grade Kandinsky Needle Felting

Students will identify and describe Wassily Kandinky’s artwork using the elements and principles of art. They will needle-felt concentric hearts varying colors of felt to their liking and use constructive feedback during studio time to achieve desired results.

Wayne Thiebauld Plaster Cupcakes

Students will analyze Wayne Thiebald’s artwork to identify and name sources for artmaking ideas. They will employ a variety of strategies to solve visual problems when creating their armature and plaster. They will select and vary art materials, tools, and processes to achieve desired results in their artwork, such as tempera paint, glitter, glitter glue, puffy paint, and pom poms

Japanese Notans

Students will compare and contrast how notans have impacted Japanese artists of different historical periods. They will demonstrate technical skill through the integration of fine motor skills and mathematical symmetry and asymmetry practices.and combine lines, geometric shapes, organic shapes, and balance to create visually effective compositions in original works of art. They will zentangle the negative space.
