James Bullough Fragmentation

Students will analyze James Bullough’s artwork and explain the factors that influence his artwork. Students will make informed choices in the selection of materials and techniques that relate to solving a visual problem.Students will demonstrate technical skill and imagination to solve problems of fragmentation and distortion.

Reflective Objects

Students will analyze artwork from different historical periods that use reflections and metals in their work. Students will compose a still life that uses reflective objects (silverware is great for this). Students will demonstrate increased technical skill and craftsmanship using media of their choice to create images from observation. Students will solve visual problems of distortions, reflections, and refractions by using extreme observation

Blending Styles

Students will compare and contrast the styles in artwork by artists of different cultures and historical trends. They will explore and expand on personal art applications through the use of available digital tools by researching art history movements and individual artists work. Students will solve visual art problems by using skills of imagination and observation to mix the styles of two unrelated artists or art movements and explain artistic processes from idea conception to completion.
